Life, Liberty and Property
Survival of this first, unwilling "river crossing" brings visitors to the next stop, This is the first element of " Coming to Kentucky /Perseverance Through Slavery."
With this premise in mind visitors proceed through environments, which explore life in bondage. Amid the work of the enslaved and the business of slavery, the individual voices of the enslaved or encountered.
People are people, not property and examples of the lives and the courage of these people are evident throughout.
Stories of the Underground Railroad are told here, and represent the beginning of what will be an ongoing theme of organized efforts of African-Americans to help themselves.
