The KCAAH and The Louisville Africa Forum present Motherland, a powerful documentary on African history, politics, culture and contemporary issues. The film dives into the glory and majesty of Africa's history through its complex present and looks forward to a positive future for Africa. This film was nominated in 2011 as Best Diaspora Documentary by the African Movie Academy Awards, and was received the Best Documentary Award by Zanzibar International Film Festival in 2010, and Best Board of Directors Award for Documentary by Pan-African Film Festival in 2010. Motherland is directed by Owen Alik Shahadah, and is the sequel the multi-award winning film 500 Years Later.
