ABOUT THE CENTER
KCAAH officially opened the Center in 2009. In 2010, shortly after the Center first opened, the Center hosted its first exhibit - TUTANKHAMUN: "Wonderful Things" From The Pharaoh's Tomb, which attracted nearly 4,000 visitors. In late 2011, the Center launched a cooperative show with the ACLU of Robert Shetterly's Americans Who Tell The Truth portrait exhibit. The month long exhibit of a selection of 30 portraits of influential Americans who stood up for the truth included several Kentuckians. Each portrait was accentuated by a quote from each subject.
The KCAAH hosts several annual events, ranging from portrait exhibits to interactive timelines of African American history. An updated schedule will be available online at a later date. For the most recent schedule, please contact the Center.
